Google blocked 2 year old website, NEED ADVICE

Oh I'm having a terrible morning. I've recently posted links to a friend's website on my main site. Two days later I see absolutely no traffic and start to think something is very wrong.

I was right. I tried entering my website and got this message:

Deceptive site ahead

Attackers on "......com" may trick you into doing something dangerous like installing software or revealing your personal information (for example, passwords, phone numbers, or credit cards).

Google Safe Browsing recently detected phishing on "......com". Phishing sites pretend to be other websites to trick you.

No one is phishing here, we're doing legitimate CPA offer promotions. My main site has been up and running for 2 years, ranked #1 on Google for multiple keywords. It's my main money site. Now it's gone.

It would seem that my friend's website has been either hacked, or somehow falsely reported as a malicious site, and since I had links to HIS site on my own, it would seem Google has decided that my website is malicious as well..

I have removed the links, but I fear the worst... Will I get my site back? Will Google restore it?

On their help guide, Google states that they will "un-demote" any website that has removed malicious links or "repaired" itself after being flagged.

Has anyone here gotten out of this successfully?

Thanks :\

EDIT: I can't even make a request Google to review my site again since it's running on a free wordpress hosting with a domain attached...

I can not tell you if you can get out of this - but I think so if you push their support and if your story is true.

But I can tell you that they have pretty good machine learning algorithms for this, but these algos are not perfect (fast, but not perfect).

That said, they will know most likely that there is an error margin, and therefore should get you off the index :-)

I hope so. Trouble is I can only wait and see if they realize the bad links are gone from my website. I cannot request a review directly as a webmaster... Worst day 2016 definitely.

Has nothing to do with the links,
        unless you are forwarding visitors,
        loading known scam ads, etc.

Unless the links are directing people to a site that
is a scam, spam, phishing, social engineering, etc.

How can a website do legit CPA?
That makes no sense. I have yet
        to see one.

"Get a free $250 walmart card for free!
(oh but you have to spend thousands and
        sign up for 10000 offers)"

If you are running one of those walmart
card scams, free laptops, etc. BS....
        tricking people....

Well, your website deserves to die.

You could try and figure out what google
        thinks is deceptive, https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6350487
        ask for a reboot...

But then, it would be easier to just forget
about google and put a sign up:

        Closed, gone phishing.

        Then start a legit site.

I recently found that two of my sites had this warning, There was a hack in which webmaster tools pointed out that i had a type of trojan planted on the sites that were doing the above.

In the end, very hard to remove, so I am clearing the sites and republishing older versions. Painful but neccessary.

Weird Google is being weird, at the moment. This is what's happening:

The first website has been CLEARED, I deleted direct offer links from the site and now the malware status by Google browsing: OK, however, the second website. The one that only linked to the first one is still rated as "dangerous, possible phishing"!.

However, the second site is now re-indexed in Google and the rankings have not changed.

Summary: Everything is back as it should be, with the exception that the second website is still marked as "possible phishing".

Being that it has been reindexed and re-ranked, I can only assume Google has seen I've deleted the 'bad' links and reinstated its status. Why it's still marked as "bad" I have no clue, I hope it's the system not being "refreshed" yet.

      Will update.

I had no idea Google will do that because of CPA offers... Like I said, site has been up for 2 years straight WITH those links up there.

Anyways, thank you for your post, this calmed me down a bit since this is a much better reason for this, and loads easier to deal with than thinking the hosting actually got hacked and infected with viruses.

Do you know what happens to sites when they remove these links? SERP related?

      Thanks again!

Let me summarize everything again, just to make sure we're on the same page.

Site A: My main money making site running on a free wordpress hosting. I only bought the domain for this site and promoted it.

Site B: New site I work on with friends, on a paid hosting plan, also running WP.

I linked site B on site A, the warnings first showed up on site B, I deleted the page in question and the warnings are gone. Site A is still showing warnings and is marked as "suspicious". I can only suppose it was marked that since it happened the day after I started linking to site B, which was blocked first.

Now the weird part. Site B has no warnings, clean. I removed ALL links on site A, but its still being blocked.

I cannot access the hosting and "scan for viruses" since it's running on the free Wordpress hosting.

There's really nothing I can do. :\ Unfortunately it seems I will have to accept it's gone. I only wish I understood why is this happening to learn a lesson.

The chances are still that a hacker has loaded something suspicious onto your website. You should contact your webhoster and see if they can help. If not, you could try re-installing the whole website again after deleting everything. You should also change your passwords after that.

Just checked my site for all external links, nothing out of the ordinary. My pages contain only legitimate links...since like a week ago, and the warning is still up there. :\
