The importance of planning in SEO

It is a famous saying, "Failing to plan is planning to fail". The same principle applies when doing SEO.

Just as when building a house you need to plan first, you acquire the land and you hire an architect to design its structure and then you start its construction.

Similarly if you want to rank a website proper prior planning is very important to rank it in the search engines. First you do proper keyword research and afterwards you buy a domain and build a website.

Do you really think Warrior Forum did keyword research before buying the domain?

      Hi,

I am not sure about warrior forum how they promoted their website but I can advise those who want to get more traffic to their websites. If your domain name is more in line with the greater number of people who are currently searching the related topic the more traffic they will get.

      Hope this helps.

I hear this all the time but then I think to myself which domain would I rather have

        Searchforstuff.com or Google.com
        Watchvideosonline.com or YouTube.com
        Buybooks.com or Amazon com
        Connectwithpeople.com or Facebook.com

I also can't remember the last time I searched for something and an exact match sytle domain came up.

I think EMD's work in very small niches to an extent, but I agree. EMD's are a poor idea in general.

Remember X-Factor sites - worked for a while. I kept track of these over time. All zzz today. I can't imagine keeping a straight face while registering some of those.
