How Do You Promote A New Post?

When I publish a new post with good on-page SEO I do the following for links and traffic:

* Automatically posts to social media ( Facebook, Twitter, Google +, LinkedIn, Tumbler)
* Post on Delicious.com, Scoop.it, StumbleUpon, Slashdot.org, Boxnutt.com (can't figure out Flipboard)
* Email those mentioned in post
* Check out links to competing articles and email those sites and ask them to read my post (and possibly share it)
* Mention people/products in post on social media

I should also make up a PDF, Powerpoint and Video of the post and post these but I try to post 2 x 1,500 articles per week so time is too short for these things.

What promotion do you do when you promote a post?

What would you add or subtract to the above list?
#post #promote

Sounds like a good list of things that you currently do. You could also maybe set up a YouTube channel and create an attention getting title for a video and kind of tease people with the contents of your new post and direct them to the post and add a link to it in your description..

Sounds great. If you are using all of these methods then you are already doing great. And yes, as the other user stated, you should also upload videos related to your niche and get visitors to your website using these youtube videos. Also you can create a Facebook group about your niche and post your articles on that group.

You post 3,000 articles a week? Are you spinning PLR or something?

      Oops, 2 x 1,500 word articles.

Thanks to the others that replied.

I already post each new post automatically on my Facebook group page. Unfortunately I don't have time for the videos now but I will try for 1 video every 2 weeks. At least that's a start.

I can make ithe video via powerpoint and then post the powerpoint content as well. 2 birds with 1 stone as it were.

Time to pull the socks up.

I try to do 20 posts a day if it's a "post content day." I have a lot of sites though. Minimum is about 10, if I'm working on other stuff.

Ya, you can follow some step to promote your post. Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram and other social media is more effective to find visitor for your post. related Youtube video and there you can build your link. This process can be more effective to promote your link.

Looks pretty good but I don't see the point in replicating the post in pdf or powerpoint format. It's just going to trip duplicate content flags and I've never found doc sharing backlinks to be of any real value. Happy to be re-educated though, what do you tend to achieve with this?

Just aiming for extra traffic through sites like Slideshare which gives a link to your site as well (something like this)

You're looking for some canned recipe abused by the masses. That's not how it works.

Find your niche traffic & promote in a format that your niche traffic wants/needs.

If I will promote 1 post, then I also have 10 other articles ready in my hand. I post one into my website, then I create emails, pdfs, slides etc. with the other ones and submit them to different directories, forums, filesharing websites (like scribd), let people download as free ebook. I also add links to my new post in these articles. So whenever my pdfs, slides, email and other promotions get viral, I keep getting visitors to my new post and this number is always growing and getting more and more visitors.

Just to say that I made 2 short and simple videos and linked to these like I would do my posts (so in effect 2nd tier linking) and the results have been very good so far. A definite increase in keyword rankings.

Edit: The only problem now is that I should do it for every product, and then post, on my site.
