(Street vs ST) for NAP consistency - Is Google 2016 smart enough?

I've been reading a lot regarding local SEO and how your NAP must be consistent across all platforms.

I understand this and try my best to do so.

However, i unfortunately stuck with "road" instead of abbreviating it to "rd" when i was creating my listing.

now some citations i see automatically use "rd" instead of "road"

In 2016 does this still count as inconsistency? or is Google now smart enough to realize both "road" & "rd" are the same?

Generally you want to keep everything EXACTLY the same, see if you can edit to make that happen

This is freaking crazy... trying to get better ranking using "rd" or "road"
        I can't believe I'm reading this.

Okay OP, I have 100% guaranteed solution that will work for you: buy Google

Google is smart enough to figure out basic postal abbreviations.

...still, organic SERPs can change depending on which version competition is optimizing (ex: ave vs avenue).

sorry guess i should have been more clear

google list the business address as:

      1324 FL-54
      New Port Richey FL 34652

and i built all my citations with this format

      1234 State Road 54
      New Port Richey FL 34652

now on the maps its the same location, but google just wrote it differently.
