  • We can still submit in directories but not on old instant approval ones. We can submit on directories like yelp, yellowpages, etc.

Link from DMOZ is the way to go. The rest just don't carry as much authority at all, and yet you have to pay for those. Do you reckon BOTW still useful for SEO and worth the price?

If your objective to get a link, then there is a line of directories that would give you one.
As far as juice is concern, in my opinion they all have the same value because they are
viewed by algo as referrals. Some dead on arrival directories simply ignored by SE Bots.

When you're talking about authority, then only a few of directories can brag they have it.
And yes, some of them still offering free inclusion, some like Yahoo, BOTW don't

No directories deserved to be paid $300 per year and specially when they can offer
only one single referral to your site, whereas, for example, our directory has been
providing 6 referrals to listed sites from 'More Info' page alone and a few more from
other pages while charging $39 for lifetime inclusion.

I seem to agree that these directories though are not very useful for a beginner and not affordable , i have checked a lot of websites ,I prefer use websites like unleashniche.com ,yelp.com, yellowpages ,etc .... "both simple and free to use " .
