How do you guys analyse the competition in your niche? Is there a way to find out exactly which company in your niche is getting the most traffic?

I use Majestic an ahrefs for backlink analysis. Well, position 1-3 for any particular keyword will get the most traffic.

Usually checking who is at the top of the results will tell you who is getting the most traffic. To analyze your competition you should dig into as many of the niches keywords as you can, take a look at the first page results and see what type of authority the sites that are ranking have.

Obviously you look at top 3 positions for your keywords but you need to apply a science to it if you want to try and attempt to analyse the competition.

Seeing as this is the SEO forum, I can only assume you want better rankings. Do you know how to do website competitor research?

Whats your gauge of website strength?

Is it number of indexed pages or amount of inbound links?

Here's something you can start with:

Look at the following and attempt to beat it by outworking them, work hard and smart at the same time:
    1. Age of website (cant do anything here)
    2. TF and CF
    3. Index pages
    4. Social following
    5. Speed of website
    6. Amount of inbound links

Start with the above but this time out work them and apply to your site.
