Worried about new update- Google to expand ads to entire first results page

Although we haven't received confirmation from Google, even after multiple requests (go figure), we're about 95% sure that they are going to be expanding their PPC ads to the entire first page of search results.

Earlier this past month, we began seeing some anomalies in Google's SERPs. During some market research, a few of our queries turned back results pages that were entirely PPC ads.

Read the article here https://goblackfin.com/is-seo-dead/ and let me know what you think about this.

I don't think so. The search results are the service they're offering to get people to click on the ads. If they'd fill the whole first page with ads they'd essentially kill the most advanced product they've ever built. They've got to find a balance which is probably the reason why the front page has been in constant flux.

Anybody remember Goto? I always laugh when people talk about the "hayday of PPC" and talk about adwords.
