    Only meta description is useful for SEO, and it's not a ranking factor. Some of the other stuff you see there is useful for other purposes such as social media sharing.

    Yep, I agree. Meta description is only useful for SEO, Google didn't consider about meta keywords tag.

    Some important meta tags that one must use in the webpage are:

    1. Title tag
    2. Description tag
    3. Keyword tag
    4. Robots tag

    But here, description tag is of utmost importance.

    Not really. If you leave it blank Google will often use the bit from the article that matches the search query. That's potentially more effective than a bad meta description.

    Haven't checked this lately, but this has been the way that Wikipedia operates.

    Meta keywords are not useful for SEO. The search engines do not use them for ranking, and you're just displaying your keywords for your competitors.
