You the keywords in title, video file name, write a nice post about your video, using related keywords. Get your video embedded and seen by many.

Optimize your channel too. Create more videos. Make videos that are worth watching to the end.

Make it easy on yourself. Look at who pops up #1 in youtube.com and do the same + 1 something more.

This is actually pretty important. YouTube tracks viewer retention ie. wether the users are watching the whole video. They're also tracking engagement for both channel and each video.

  No excuse, I tried to tell my SEO manager this, but he doesnt believes me, and my boss listens to just him..
  there is nothing I can do,
  so I just come to these forums, do my daily postings, even when I know I cant accomplish anything..
  Well its not nothing actually, sometimes I get good tips for content marketing.. will surely apply them in my next job..

You can very easily rank for long tail keywords in Youtube, try that. As per my experience, my two videos are ranking on first page of Google and guess what, one if of web hosting and other is of a business

Remember that YouTube and Google can’t watch or listen to your video (yet).
That means that they heavily lean on the text surrounding the video to understand your video’s topic. Make sure your video descriptions are at least 200 words, and it would be good to go.

You should simply focus on optimization tactics that work for videos specifically. I`d say the most usefull tip is to run keyword research thoroughly and target the keywords that are more likely to return video results in the SERPs, so that you could rank in the Universal Search as well.

To rank in Videos or in YouTube directly you should just optimize the videos for your keywords, add catchy descriptive titles and, yes, focus the most on detailed rich descriptions, as that`s what the search engines will take into account to evaluate the relevancy of your video to a search term.

Then just go on sharing the video, spreading it across the social networks, and build some relative links to it.
