Hi there,

I am a newbee on internet marketing. I would like to built a website regarding a 3Dprinter repair.
I have 2 domain options that I can select. The first one is a 3 words domain which is 3Dprinterrepair. the pros on this domain is most popular keyword searched on the engine. The con is that there is double "r" between word connections.
the second domain is service instead of repair, however if I compare traffic between 2 words, it is searched about half of the first one.
I am quite confused that which one would be better to go with?

I would brand the domain especially If you're targeting local search traffic.

Why don't you just remove the other "r"? "3Dprinterepair"

It would still have the same meaning to the customers.

Or you could think of another domain name. But be sure to come up with the most creative one.

thank you very much for tips. I am planning to target nationwide however I also would add a prefix such as 'fast3Dprinterepair.' If I also add a brand name, I believe it would be too long. Which one shoul I prefer? A brand name or a prefix?
I am wondering do I still get same benefit from keyword search (printer repair) when I cut 'r'?

Probably your best bet is to go Yukon's suggestion of a brand name, although I must say this name is a bit trickier than most because it doesn't sound spammy, like... bestshowercurtainreviews (thanks Paul )

A couple of things to note, without hyphens the name will be read by Big G as 3Dprinterepair, (all one word, thus little-to-no seo value.

EMD's are not as good as they used to be, and if you use the exact main keywords in the domain you are trying to rank for, you may never actually rank for that particular phrase at all, a lot of others perhaps, but not that one.

    Hi snlharun,

The domain name has essentially no SEO value and is sometimes penalized if your site has low-quality content. I would look for a simpler domain with fewer than 10 characters and not worry about having the words "3D printer" in there.

Google is going to scan your website for the words "3D printer" and other words that would be expected to appear in sites and articles on that topic so setting up a blog with informational posts on 3D printing is going to do much more for your traffic and SEO.

    Best,
    Matt

  • Hi,

The domain name is merely for branding, or let's say, if someone searches for that specific name in the search bar, your domain would pop out (though not that sure if it would immediately land a top spot in search engines.) Your best bet would be to use plugins and meta keywords/titles/descriptions containing a good set of keywords for SEO. You can use SEO yoast or Add meta tags for this as an example. Also, you need quality content on your site.

    Goodluck and regards,

3Dprinterrepair is a good choice, you can capitalize the first character of each word when doing brand marketing like that 3DPrinterRepair.

It is right that most popular keywords are are bringing more traffic but at the same time poses enormous competition thus it takes long time to achieve ranking on these kwywords through organic way. Despite achieving top ranking we have to earn business as well thus we cant wait for long.

According me initially we must target keywords with average search volume and medium competition so in order to bring regular business and later on we must go for top competitive keywords.
