A Study Of Page One Google Rankings – Official Keyword Canine 3.0 Blog

Thoughts ?

The KW density is interesting along with the keyword count. Definitely something that a lot of us have been battling back and forth. Yukon even said it years ago, it's not about the # of keywords or density, it's just whether or not you have great content.

Check it out guys.

Very detailed case study, I need approx. 2 hours to understand well. But it seems good learning for me.

Not a case study. You should remove the word "case" because this kind of data set is much more interesting.

So do EMDs rank because they're EMDs, or because it's likely that the contents are build around the keyword? The study suggest that Exact and Partially Matching Domains are more likely to get relevant anchor texts, and not get flagged for excessive use if the text is in the domain. Interesting.

My experience says the same for EMD's, exact or partial. I can keyword stuff and not get in trouble... Though moving from 4 to 3 seems harder if I keyword stuff, getting to #4 is a breeze.

I have the feeling Google says to itself: this boy's got a useful site, so I must show it to peeps, but he's breaking my rules, and I can't let that go unpunished. What to do, what to do? (Strokes beard. I know. I'll place him in #4. If he wants to go higher, I'll make him extra hard. (But not too hard... His got useful info and he is doing the rest of SEO well.)

Haha I'm building up a study so far. Need to test more sites and I'll come up with a conclusion...

Something I'm learning (which I'm sure a lot of u know), is link diversity for affiliate sites. I realized that I can just get away with PBN links; and I don't really need web 2.0's, blog comments, social, etc. But it's always great that I'm seeing it for myself.

Good to know. I have some EMDs in impossibly hard niches in the hopes that either EMDs magically come back or some billion dollar company wants to buy the site to use it as part of their PBN.

So I just need like 350k links for this one niche. Great. Good to know.

    :Checks Bing:

Oh I see, Bing counts Spam as real links.

My EMD is not even showing up in Bing. HMM.

    Any Bing experts around?

Maybe, if I put adsense on the page, Google won't care...

Bing is just something else. Improve the pages, and Google sees your changes in almost real time. Bing might take a week or a month.

Not sure if anyone here has done any extensive work on Bing. Most just seem to kind of ignore it, and hope for the best.

I'm really interested in the anchor text distribution.

So far I've kept a mixed "pie" chart with branded vs unbranded (targeted kws) vs naked url vs misc.

Any of you guys say "F it" and u just go for a ton of main target anchor text keywords and not get penalized?
