Backlinks in Disqus Comments

Do backlinks from a disqus comment count as much as if there comments were hosted on the webpage itself? Also, having multiple comments on different websites if they all used disqus, does it go by the URL of the page or the URL the comment platform is hosted on i.e. disqus.

Hopefully you understand the point I'm trying to make

    Ahh, I only asked because I know there is two ways to implement disqus comments - the simple js include way and I thought there was another alternative that syncs with your database but it uses their features, i was hoping the bigger sites may of used this (which may of given some link juice)

    Disqus comments are no-follow links so they dont provide link juice. However, they help in getting good traffic which helps in increased traffic. Nofollow links are also important just like dofollow links. every website must have a good ratio of follow and nofollow links.
