Well during the transition you will probably lose traffic and then it's not going to do anything.

    So yeah.

Spend your money on quality content or quality links and you'll be better off.

I disagree, Google announced in 2014 that it would use SSL as a ranking factor: https://webmasters.googleblog.com/20...ng-signal.html

And when I visit a page without it, I certainly won't interact with the page as comfortably.

I've explained the "ranking factors" before. They have an extremely minor impact on your site and unless your site is a massive organization with millions of words of written content, it is unlikely that you will ever notice a difference and are better off spending your money on additional content.

Individual marketers should completely ignore the "ranking factors" and focus on quality content and acquiring quality links. Also, companies that produce products or sell services lack mobility. They can not just come up with a new keyword idea to generate traffic for their site, so they want to maximize every single ranking as much as possible, even if the effect is only a .01% gain. When a site has 100k backlinks, .01% across that many links is a significant difference. A site with 100 backlinks links is way better off trying to get a new link.

If the site will be transitioning from http to https, it will actually hurt you during the transition and you may not ever make up for that loss. If you want to start a new site with it, that's up to you. Unless my site is going to have a shopping cart, I'll save my money for something else.

Even if you could optimize your site for every single ranking factor (it's actually impossible) your site will have bounced around the SERPs so much during the implementation of these factors that it's not going to be worth it.

Google blows a lot of smoke & people tend to over exaggerate the smoke signals. Remember the mobilegeddon drama that did nothing on the SERPs?

Https does not rank pages. It's useless for SEO.

That's nonsense especially If a site is using a trusted 3rd party checkout like Paypal.

    Hi josoftech,

You can get SSL for free with Cloudflare. Using the service (called a CDN) will speed up your site, too:

    https://www.cloudflare.com/

    https://blog.cloudflare.com/introducing-universal-ssl/

    Best,
    Matt

Some changes will come in ranking after redirection to https to http. But those ranking will help to boost your website/business in search engine. Godaddy is good but their ssl service is very costly compared to other trusted ssl providers for example https://www.clickssl.net/ssl-certificate-authorities
