Hi Everyone!
I need help choosing a domain name...
I have a domain name: alliedintsecurity.com. I am looking forward to update my website with new domain name which is more S.E.O friendly, and at the same time easy to remember when someone search for it. I want to start targeting local area first.
I have following options:
AlliedSecurityINC.com
247alliedsecurity.com
securityguardslosangeles.com
securitycompanieslosangeles.net
247securityguards.net

Please give your best advice. I will appreciate all the help.

Hello, I would recommend going with a domain that has a keyword or 2 in it, but also something that people are going to remember. Keep in mind that domain name doesn't play as huge of a role in ranking your site anymore and it's more about your link profile and on page SEO.

I would rule out the securityguardlosangeles domains right away as they are generic and won't be remembered as easy. Out of your listed choices, I would choose either 247alliedsecurity or alliedsecurityINC.

Hope this helps. If you need other SEO advice, feel free to contact me.

There is no such thing, unless you are getting a tld from russia, india, pakistan, turkey,...

But you know what's friggin' funny?
Is that you are asking what is SEO friendly, then
talk about people remembering it to search for it.

That's not even close to SEO. That's brand name
recognition, not SEO. It's using google as a
    big yellow page phone book.

This advice works now, but the next Google update can change everything.
Right now EMDs work wonderfully well for SEO and it would probably be the quickest way to get rankings in a city, but its arguable in a larger city, because there is a lot more competition. When you use an EMD, it makes it very clear to Google what you are attempting to rank for, but you lose the benefit of a brand name and all the other links you could be getting from branded searches and links.

If your company is doing all of LA or implying that it does then having securityguardslosangeles.com would be great, its an exact match domain its called.

You have to use domain that would be the most coherent to nature of your business
without worrying about SEO because if users will use keywords in your domain, it will
come up in SERP anyhow but depending on competition how high.

Your domain name has got squat to do with anything.

What is one of the top travel sites online?
    Kayak.com

    Top real estate site? Zillow.com

When I search for security guard los angeles I get

    craigslist
    ges.net
    yelp
    guardnow.com
    thumbtack
    yellowpages
    securitecguards.com
    unifiedprotectiveservices.com
    americanguardservices.com
    capanther.com

    Get on craigslist, yellowpages, etc.
Do something that matters, not fret over domain.

please purchase the domain name easy to remember, if you can use the main keywords should seo is good, but do not make it into special.

I would suggest you to create a brand name instead of purchasing domain with a keyword. It's better to have a domain name that everyone remembers!

    Hi allied,

Shoot for 10 characters or less just for ease of use. As other people mentioned, you can see that the keyword in your URL has no effect on SEO and actually had a negative correlation with a first page ranking in 2014.

That's not to say it hurts your ranking - it could just be a random correlation - but you're not going to get any benefit from it.

I would also avoid anything with numbers and letters. That's sort of annoying to type and harder to remember.

    Best,
    Matt
