so i have $1000 to spend to increase my local SEO outreach. What i did what research local chamber of commerce sites and found some great link opportunities, but each link at a CoC is around $300.

Can anyone think of anything more successful for local SEO then buying 3 CoC directory listings?

btw: i, already signed up for the free ones like foursquare, hotfrog, yellowpages, superpages, infogroup, ect.. now im focusing on the harder ones.

    Hi Murkr,

I see you listed a handful of directories you signed up. I would make sure to get all of these if you haven't already:

Contact some realtors with blogs, tell them you run a plumbing site and can write an article about spotting plumbing problems when you're looking at houses to buy and all you want is for them to give you credit in the form of
      Name
      Company Name
      link to website.

Point out to the realtor that the article will make them look good and keep people on their website.

Then contact real estate attorneys and appraisers and tell them the same.

Then write some amazing articles about roofing with a connection to how realtors are necessary when buying a house and contact realtors and tell them about your article.

Then contact home inspectors and tell them you have a great article about roof problems on your site and why a home inspection is essential when buying a house. (And, of course, you'll have such an article on your site before you contact.)

Thank you, great ideas. Now do these home inspectors, real estate attorneys, appraisers, and realtors have to be in my local area for it to be effective for my local SEO efforts?

Yes, i will of course will look in my area first. But lets just say i find a realtor that lives in another state to accept my guest post. Now, will that help with my local SEO, or is that more targeting organic search SEO.

My goal is to rank the business in the local map pack first.

A realtor from another state is good.

A lofty enough goal. But why not have a page or two from the website ahead of the pack?

In my experience, getting links moves my pages up in the ranks and, at some point, that movement moves my Google pages at the top... Sometimes, even for cities around the one the business is located in.

I think the best links for local SEO would be the local directories link and business listing links.
