I just had an email from Adsense telling me that their ads from now on do not just display ads from Adwords advertiser but from other networks also. However if you wish you can keep displaying Adword ads only.

What does this mean for Adwords content advertisers? Do they get less impressions from now on?

      Hi affiliated survivor,

I got the same email and they said that the other ad networks will be competing for the same ad space on the publisher's page. More competition for a limited commodity generally means means higher prices. If all goes as planned then it should mean higher AdSense earnings.

I received one this morning too.
I don't think that is what it means on the contrary I think you may get more impressions. What they are doing (google interpretation mind), is broadening your choice on what types of ads you want on your sites to be better targetted to your content. You have the choice of using adwords only or a mixture of the two adwords competing with other networks.
At least that's my understanding certainly it makes using Google adsense program more attractive when you've this choice to my mind. I agree withdburk this could happen for your adsense earnings.

Now when they say other networks I don't know if they are talking about CPA (don't know anything about that), or just kontera, shopzilla etc....

Other warriors may be more clued up about this .

    Cheers

  • I hope it will work out fine. I think there are some strange things going on with Google lately. I have a webpage that stood on page 2 for months (sometimes on page 1). Last week I suddenly moved to page 1 and had very high (very high for that keyword) Adsense clicks. I made about $ 5-6 on average a day with that page. This went on for may be 7 days and than the page dropped to no. 168. It´s totally gone now. It still has it´s PR. There was no deindexing or penalty.

I wonder, with this stronger competition, if you display Adsense on your sites and your visitors aren´t buying if they let your site drop and try their luck with another website.
