What did google do with my site? and why?

One of my best sites seems to have been all but shut down by google.

The site sells my ebook on how to get a teaching job.

I have been on the first couple of pages for the phrase "teaching jobs" and within the first four on page 1 for the phrase "how to get a teaching job" for a while...

Recently I noticed my sales dropped off tremendously...

I did some research on Google on can't find my site anywhere on Google for those phrases...

I have not been doing anything differently...except last March I started to really build up my backlinks (using some of the popular wso backlinking packages)...however, I have not gone overboard...I do all my backinking manually and put up about 10 backlinks a day to that site.

Also, I use the same exact backlink strategy to many other sites that still do very well in Google (first page for many of my phrases)...so I can't really see that being it...

Also, when I search my site's name (teacherinterviewtips.com) in google the site comes up so it appears that it is still indexed, but just disappeared for my main keyword phrases.

Is there anyway to find out what happened and is there anyway for me to get it back on page one if Google just slapped me for some reason?

    are some of those backlinks you do daily on the same sites?

    One of my best sites also went off page 1 after doing backlinking from the WSO's here. I am not saying that is why it went off... but it is very coincidental after the backlinks got indexed that my site fell from page 1 to page 75. 0 sales are now being made from that site which was one of my best.

    The same thing happened to two of my sites. I was on the front page for a while, than *poof* they disappeared. They're still indexed and everything , but they are back somewhere in the 100's position.

    No idea what happened. I'm hoping that it is a temporary thing that will bounce back.

      what's strange is that my other sites that I backlink to using the same exact method (form wso packages) and actually using the same backlinking sites at the same time are still ranking very well...I was thinking it was some type of "dance" but it seems to have been at least a week now...
