But I wonder do you every day check or per month check your website ranking?

    Everyday? Heavens no. Results really don't update that frequently. I monitor traffic, and check ranking results in Google Webmaster Tools/Bing Webmaster Tools every couple of weeks. If I'm doing lots of SEO work in a particular month then I may check a little more often the following month.

    I actually care about my site's rank but not that obsess with checking from time to time...

    I agree high website rank = more traffic. And for business owners it is an advantage.

    I really don't care about my website ranking. As long as I have more clients that are coming back to me I know that I'm doing just fine. But I check it occasionally to see how I'm doing.

    Hi Devilfish,

    With your site in the #1 position, you'll likely get between 25% and 40% of the traffic for that search term. The number 2 spot usually sees about 15%. By the time you're in search position 10, you're only getting around 1 or 2% of the clicks. On the second page, you're almost invisible.

    I check it monthly but I really don't care about the ranking. I just want to check if I need to have some improvements to do based on how I ranked.

    Not all websites that are ranking high are gaining more traffic because there are some sites in the lower pages are gaining more traffic and possible conversions. This is what we call branding and great user experience from the product and services.

    It is good to check the ranking of your website twice a month. And if you are working really hard, you can do it more often. We all do efforts to improve the ranking of the website or maintain the existing ranking. So, there's no harm in checking the ranking I guess. Checking the ranking also helps you determine which things are working and which aren't.
