In regards to SEO, nope. .com will increase trust with visitors though.

The main way a .com is better is twofold imho:

    1. If you go to sell the site at some point.
    2. For offline advertising. People will forget the .info and go to the .com accidentally.

Not sure where you people get your information from.

The other day, someone was badmouthing the "info" on
the WF, claiming it's a bunch of junk that one must wade through.
This thread is a perfect example.

There is no difference for SEO. None.

This thread should be required reading and a sticky:

Nobody else cares. Not Google, not Bing, not the general public. Nobody.
But you do mention landing page. If that's for adwords, again, the
extension does not matter, but you should have words in the domain
that tip off the potential visitor. I saw one the other day for a kids
day care, called phoenixfeathers.com. What's up with that? People don't
realize that actually can lower your QS for a nonsense domain. One of
the only times I say "keywords" in a domain matter.

When it comes to search engines they dont give a flying f if it is .info or .com
but people feel some sort of security with the .com

It makes no difference with SEO, but a ".com" domain has a higher perceived value. So, if you want to sell it in the future, it's better to opt for a ".com".
