    Associate your site with the location you're targeting.

    If I'm targeting Dallas Texas I'll be mentioning stuff (landmarks/names) that's located in Dallas Texas. I'll also be building followed links and citations on pages that already rank for keywords related to Dallas Texas.

    NAP (Name-Address-Phone) is one of the important factor for location based SEO. Please mention the NAP in your website contact page and also add the details in Google Place as your business branch office.
    There are several location specific web directories or business listing websites available. Please use these sites to inform Google about your business expansion to new area or region.

      That is correct but to be listed in Google Local you need a physical address in that area. You phone are code should also match the location.

      I am not sure OP was referring to Google Local though.
