Choosing a host

Hi, I'm a photographer and sorry if this is a clueless question but I am considering between these two sites to host my website:
smugmug.com
photodeck.com
Photodeck is MUCH superior in terms of the services that it offers to me, the user. However, I got on similarweb and punched them in, and I see that smugmug gets 10x the monthly traffic, and most of its viewers are in the US, whereas photodeck has 10x less traffic and primarily French users.
So what I am totally clueless about is if this is of any relevance to me, as a customer hosting my images on one of these hosts. Will I benefit in any way from hosting on the more popular site? Or is my SEO/traffic entirely dependent on my individual efforts?
