7 years old domain with a lot of blog comment backlinks. Need to disavow?

As said in title, I have a domain/website that been up on the internet since 2007 and has acquired many type of backlinks over time. This website is not ranking well.
the question is, is it necessary for me disavow the blog comment backlinks which is dated about 2008 - 2009ish as the blog comments are not on website on relevant niches but however it may be there due to the tactics of the 2007 to 2009 period where creating of backlinks are not controlled as now.
