I want to know that is it good to have internal linking between posts having same keywords. I am having an apps site where i usually update the new versions in a new post and then inter link the new and the old post. The Yoast Plugin give me a red sign and notify me that you are linking to a post having same focus keyword this can harm your ranking.

What should i do ?

There's a fine line when doing this...

You need relevant but unique internal pages and make sure both page titles are unique otherwise at least one of the pages will get buried in Supplemental SERPs and it will probably be the one you're trying to rank.

You could always use canonical tags so that you could aim to rank the new page in the old page SERP position. Test it on one of your weaker SERP competition keywords and see If the new page falls in place on the SERPs, replacing the old page. I'm guessing you don't want the old page ranked.

Thnx For Replying, actually the basic thing what i want to ask is that if a old version is rank and getting traffic, and then i publish a new version with a unique content and link both of them internally, will this effect the ranking of the old version. Because the new will takes time to rank. So i dont want to lose the old ranking

Did you use your keyword to interlink other posts? Avoid that. It would be better if you link other blogs/posts with a unique related word. It could also be long tail keywords. Make sure to not interlink on the very first part of your content. You do not want to immediately direct your readers to another post/page.
