My SEO Image juice sucks - appreciate any thoughts/advice

I have run a Wordpress powered site focusing on photography of my town since 2010. I've shared 1,300 images at this point and use Yoast SEO to make sure I have good titles, alt tags, metadata, etc. Still, if you Google 'Marblehead' you won't find my images in the top 20 results.

My site: https://wednesdaysinmhd.com

Meanwhile, this page shows up as #3 or 5 consistently:
Inductees announced for Marblehead Yacht Racing Hall of Fame >> Scuttlebutt Sailing News

It is filled with the term Marblehead (19 times!) which I thought was a no-no.

And this page stole my image and still gets better Google juice/placement than me (shot of the moon and building with my watermark on bottom left corner in middle of page):

Preservation Goes Local - Take Two - Tocci Building Companies

I realize I am missing the key word from my url (made the decision to keep it short back in 2010). Would love any advice on getting my images to show up higher in the image search.

Thanks!

yup, thats what we all think - and they prove us wrong.

Now if A is true [as above] the B must be true also,

here is B: send links from other Pics sites to you Pics on your site.

    The more the better.

I would go with 3 biggest photo hosting sites only, that allow out bound links.

    Who would those be?

    let's discuss

      Thanks George,

Do you mean I should post my photos on other sites such as Flickr or 500px with links back to me?

And should I take the above example as a sign that I should stuff my homepage with more keywords?

No keyword stuffing on your homepage,

the keywords variations should be in the links pointing to your homepage.

Re: ""Do you mean I should post my photos on other sites such as Flickr or 500px with links back to me?"

absolutely, thats how you do it.

Just when I answered your question, i checked my mail after....and what do you know, someone sent me this:

    getinstaviral.com

it's unbelievable stuff, I just watched the video....

I think that answers all our questions, and its cheap, I will use it for my Memes site
