Will changing a business name affect rankings?

Hey guys, my domain name has been on the net for at least 15 years and I have been getting some minor traffic over the years on google local but now I would like to change my business name to something else, is this a good idea and will that affect whatever rankings I already have please?

    No I am not tranferring anything, the domain name will remain the same, just changing the business name and logo.

    If you are changing the business name, then it will definitely affect search engine ranking of your website. If you don’t want to lose your current visitors, then you can transfer old domain to new domain but do not change please company name.
