    @Magneto

    Does Google really rank for guest-posting?

    According to what I've heard they count that the same as sponsored posts, i.e it doesn't help with the ranking.

      You heared right. But it doesn't mean that guest posting has no value. Google says that don't use it for link building purpose, use it smartly. Like don't use anchor text always on a keyword in your guest post, mostly use the anchor text on your brand's name which is highly recommended.

        So, what would the difference be?

        I read over at Search Engine Land a while ago that the brand isn't one of the factors that Google are using for determine ranking either.

        Or am I too focused on the aspect of ranking?

          Simple is that, if you are talking about ranking only then avoid guest posting.

    I don't know which is sadder. that you are and have taken on clients or you are coming here to have this board (mostly of people who do not know SEO) to teach you.

    People years ago used to say no but right now you would be better taking a course or reading a book on SEO than "learning"SEO through forums where even people who have never ranked a site in their life are teaching you how to rank.

    This is not something that can taught in a day or in one post.

    On page is pretty simple, optimise your title, description, keyword tag and content should be fine. Others may just be optional..

    As for the Off Page, quality links and content is all you need.
