Sorry, but your very premise is flawed ("The days of cold calling and in-person sales are over ") and, checking keyword density is actionable but if it's part of your B2B marketing strategy you've got to be an idiot.

@DABK, these are the strategies that i worked with and checked whether they work or not. Yes, these days, cold calling has become an old strategy, however, natural user generated content takes more prominence. Instead of disturbing people by doing in-person sales, getting people attracted by themself is becoming more valid. Writing quality content sticking to keyword density can certainly help us.

I am thinking you're confused. Cold calling still works if you know what you're doing. It never worked if you did not know what you were doing. A lot of businesses still do it and do it well.

I like the idea of getting people to chase you as much as anyone else. I don't see how checking keyword density does that. And you're missing lots and lots of ways of getting people to chase you.

If you're a savvy business person, you'll work as many ways of getting clients as you know how.

In addition, how do you "apprehend content structure?" What does it even mean?

How about "be interesting?" How is that actionable? Or useful.

Yes, everyone knows if people find your site interesting they stick around, but how do you become interesting? Pinch your nose while you write your articles, for instance, silly as it is, is actionable. Anyone can do it. Be interesting while you create your content, on the other hand, is not.

How does 'present your content' belong? That's like saying in order to walk from place a to place be you must walk from place a to place b.

How about "be the answer for all queries?" What's actionable there? If you've said, Do xyz to become the answer for all queries, I wouldn't be mentioning this. I might disagree, depending what the action is.

I am going to say, you have not used your 42 actions because you don't have 42 actions. And some of them are so basic, you do them without thinking about them.

I am also going to still think your starting point is flawed. It's not "this instead of that" but "this in addition to that."

Hi @DABK, That's the most valuable suggestion I've ever had. I completely agree with what you mentioned. In the first place, i should not have used a title with "actionable" word into it :-) Those are some good tips to make content more reachable.

I also agree that many businesses still execute cold calling effectively. I am going to update my blog as per your suggestions.Thank you!

Glad if we have a section at warrior forum to get my blogs reviewed by professionals.

I've built a successful career by strictly B2B cold calling. And I've done it faster than blogging ever could. I wish someone would have told me it doesn't work!

Since cold calling doesn't work, you must have done something else to get those clients, right? You must have started a blog and you just forgot, right?

Why do people think that a marketing method they can't make work doesn't work?

I speak to people who've tried internet marketing and it doesn't work, who've tried networking and it doesn't work, who've tried direct mail and it doesn't work, who've tried adwords and it doesn't work.

They never, ever, say, I couldn't make it work.

          Why?
          Why?

          Justin,

Recently I have a freelance business that most of my clients will come from cold calling (In the past they have come from word of mouth which has worked but not well enough). I have Zero experience with sales and cold calling, is there anything you suggest I could read or help educate me on how to do this in a way that is effective?

The most effective these days is using social media. A lot of people do follow your account if you have interesting posts that suits them perfectly. These people will contact you if they want to buy your products or services.

Yes, you can sit around and wait for people to call you. OR, and this is crazy, you can call them and speed the process up infinitely.

Haha. I can tell you that cold calling definitely does still work, but it's not for everyone.

In terms of efficency, having a stream of qualified buyers will always come out over cold calling no matter what, but the idea of cold calling is to FIND the right clients.
