Hi, Will Google custom search box in my website help boost up my SEO.

>> For me I believe not at all. Even when people search within the custom box, your results will show first and (maybe only your results will be shown) - but google knows that this is a search inside your website and not in the internet as a whole.

>>what do you think?

thanks,

    Not at all.

The Google search box is provided for their benefit... not yours.

It serves a purpose for the site owner who has a legitimate need for search on their site, but the greater benefit is to google, giving them a way to redirect visitors, who are obviously looking for something other than what they found on your page, to another page... most likely on a different web site.

If anything, because the search box gives the visitor another way to leave your site it could result in more "bounces" being recorded against the page, and therefore negatively impact SEO for that page.

Not only will it NOT help your SEO (why would it?), it will cause people to leave your site to go look at other sites.

Lol, you don't have a clue what Google Custom Search is.

CliffsNotes: Custom Search only shows results from your own domain. It's equivalent to doing a site:domain.com search without traffic leaving your site.

I'm sorry, I accidentally ignored the word "custom". It would be helpful if you actually answered the questions that were asked instead of taking childish pot shots at people. The premise of the question was whether it would help SEO. That does not change whether it is Google Search or Google Custom Search. I had an opinion (which is also a fact) about its affect on SEO (it has none). Do you have an opinion on whether it helps or hurts SEO? That was the question, right?

          Seriously?

You don't have a clue what Google Custom Search is, I correct you, and you want to talk smack?

How can YOU even participate in a conversation when you don't have a clue what the subject is?

Instead of attacking me once again because of one word that has nothing to do with the premise of the question, do you have an opinion on whether custom search (or any type of search box, on-site or not) helps SEO?
