Hi all,

I have just set up a WP blog - it's a personal one about my dog!

As I use adsense for my other sites I thought I'd put some on this new blog.

Can someone tell me why I'm not getting relevant ads on the home page?

whippet-tales.com - be kind, it's a work in progress.

Thanks

Karen

Maybe I'm being dense, but I don't see Google ads on your blog.

Google serving up non-relevant ads is a known issue that happens from time to time. Generally, you don't have to do anything. Their system settles down and starts serving relevant ads.

  • Karen,

You don't have enough content yet on the homepage. Click on an individual post listing on the right, or your "Archives" links (Sept. and August) and you'll see relevant ads. Try adding some more text to that top post.

Always... 'course it would have to get along with Tara, my 165 lb Rottie - though she thinks she's a "lap dog" - which can be a little painful...

          LOL!

I used to have a Great Dane until he died last year who was exactly the same!

          I feel your pain.

      Hi Mark,

Thanks for the advice - it worked! I just put an extra few lines in the top post and hey presto - problem solved!

      Thanks again.

Yes, give it a little time. After a couple of posts you should see the adds become more relevant.

      Karen -

If you don't see an improvement in the targeting - go the google adsense site and look up "section targeting" - there's a simple script there that helps target keywords.

Thanks everyone, I'll continue to add posts and see what happens although relevant ads do appear on the other pages.
