How good are broken domain links?

I have a SEO plan for a site that is founded on broken domains. Basically I scan websites I want to get a link from on deadlinkchecker.com. I then check each of the broken links I find, to see which domains can be purchased.

We're finding a lot of good, niche relevant sites, oftentimes rebuildable using content from archive.org. For those, I plan to rebuild the website using the old content.

In essence I'm building a private blog network using broken links as my base.

Does anyone do anything similar? Is this a fairly good strategy on its own for ranking smaller websites?

You need to make sure that the site has not been spammed in the past, check the Trust Flow / Citation Flow ratio and also make sure that the domain was used in a niche similar to your money making site.

I always want the TF / CF ratio to be over than 1.

    Example: 15 / 10 = 1.5 GOOD
    10 / 18 = 0.55 BAD

    Hope this helps.
