Hello,

I see the following error "The PTR record for the address points to an unknown host name" when checking various DNS checkers. under section SOA

Question

1. How does this effect SEO, if at all?
2. If it does not effect SEO, does it effect something else, like deliverability of email?
3. What is SOA? I assume start of authority..but how does it relate to # 1 or # 2?

Thanks

The SOA is a record showing where the site originated from, i.e. the main server actually hosting the website.

Some hosts and users are actually working to hide that information in order to block Google from seeing when the same owner has multiple sets of sites for a private link network.

In short, you don't need to worry about it, it has zero effect on email or SEO.

Thanks. By dispalying SOA record, thus not hiding from Google, does that improve trust / any other ranking factor?
