Do EzineArticles Really Work as Valid Backlinks?

I've posted 60+ ezinearticles for a few of my sites.

I see no benefit in them as long term backlinks.

I've heard this, and I am wondering if its true:

The article works as a very short term backlink, but is quickly brought to a PR0...

Also, when I check my backlinks, I see *1* ezinearticle.

Sadly, for this niche I've submitted at least over 50.

What gives ?

I'm very surprised at this. Have you bookmarked your articles?

Better yet, bookmark your profile page at Ezinarticles.com the one with all your article links on it.

This will get them indexed and thus counted

Wow over 60+ articles and no backlinks? You should be getting a ton of traffic to your websites by now.

Bookmarkting means taking your Ezine Home URL and putting it into places such as:

    -Delicious
    -Technorati
    -Yahoo Bookmarks
    etc...

Just google "Top Bookmarketing Sites" and you will find some top places to bookmark. Also include some of your popular articles in forums, blogs, videos etc... This will get you more traffic and backlinks for your articles. Hope this helps

How are you checking your backlinks? First of all, no tool that I know of will show you ALL the backlinks out there, although I've heard that Google's Webmaster Tools does try to show the webmaster (and ONLY the webmaster) as many as possible.

So if you're using Google's external backlinks checker, or Yahoo! Site Explorer, you're only ever seeing a SAMPLE of your backlinks. Plus, they may only choose to show 1 per domain, ie. ezinearticles.com is 1 domain.

The best thing to do is use Google Webmaster Tools for your site, and see if the additional backlinks show up. But you'll need to verify that you own the domain. Google doesn't want to show your competition those backlinks!

My (admittedly incomplete) understanding of how Google views such things is that it won't count 60 links from any site as 60 individual backlinks. (If it did, then the fact that I have about 3,000 posts in this forum would mean 3,000 backlinks to my site from my sig... but that's not the case.)

It looks more like 1 website = 1 backlink.

    Regards,
    Tommy.

    Thanks guys.....

Yeah its too bad, but I think Thomas is sort-of right. I don tthink google is gonna blast me to the top for having 60 ezine articles.

I actually may have over 100 for one of these websites.

And no, I never bookmark them. Should I bookmark them now?

In my opinion, you are wasting your time bookmarking articles - Any SB site worth a damn won't accept a page from EZA. Use Yahoo pipes to pull out individual feeds and then submit the feeds - Then bookmark the feeds

Again, this is only my opinion....

Pligg sites are good to get your content indexed and nothing else. Everyone and their momma is abusing the pligg DB and there are links for everything from wrinkle cream to prostitution on this. The value of a pligg link for me has been pretty much nill over the past 90 days.

I have however found different uses for the tool

I know nothing about feeds. What the hell are they? I can bookmark a feed?

Maybe I'll use SENUKE for that.

Strengthen your backlinks by contacting the webmaster of the site that has republished your article with your backlinks. Offer to rewrite that article for them with unique content. Then if they say yes and they always do spin that article which should take twenty minutes to pwhack, and then you both have original content and a stronger backlink

No one republishes my terrible articles. I have them written by a person for $1.50, and they are in broken english. But not so bad..

      Too funny!!!

BTW, I have a few sites with over 50 EZA articles linking to them each. More than half show up in Google Webmaster Tools.

I've found EzineArticles to be some of my strongest backlinks, so I'm very surprised that yours are not showing up. Maybe they still need more time? I've found that many of mine take a couple of weeks to show in Yahoo explorer.

After a period of three months, your EZA articles will give you a PR of 3.

WHat you need to do is to link to your home page AND your inner pages, and don't forget to vary the anchor text.
