Not "indexed" on search console although it is indexed (site: and cache: command)?

One of my websites is for a local business, and since I closed that business a few years ago (i.e.3 years) intending to get back in the future (I moved, and moved back), I used a WP plugin to say "maintenance mode." I had to do it because of some regulations of that business.

Recently I got back to that local business, and I took off that plugin and now the website is alive. I don't really remember if I used search console back then (Webmaster tool) but I had to set it up again.

Anyway, I set it up a week ago or so. I just let it be and didn't check much for a week or so, and I checked today. It says there has been no error, but it says "Total Indexed: 0" under Index Status. I thought it was strange because the site was fully indexed 3 years ago. So I used "site:mysite.com" and all the pages showed up. "cache:mysite.com" shows my updated website too. In Search Console, there is crawling data and keyword data.

So I assume the site has been indexed. But it still says "Total Indexed: 0" under Index Status.

Can anyone tell me what it is about? Error? Takes more time before it shows all the data? Or possibly it is somehow not "indexed" though it shows on the "site:" or "cache:" commands?

Thanks

How many pages did you create since you created the new setup? (How many did Google have to index?) The new setup counts things since the setup went live.

      Thank you for your reply.

I didn't create any new pages.
Do you mean because the pages already had been indexed before and Google doesn't (or doesn't have to) index new pages since I set up Console this time, it just says 0 indexed?

      Thank you.

First of all, check the Robots.txt file on the root of the website and make sure that the website pages are not blocked by robots.txt file. After then, create an XML sitemap of your website, upload it to the root of the website and submit the URL of sitemap in Google Search Console. I would also suggest to submit to index each and every page of your website in Google Search Console in Crawl section. I think taking these steps will help you.

In very rare cases, site is also blocked through the .htaccess file so get it checked too with the help of a developer.

Check your robots.txt file. If you wrote code to block sitemap index for crawler then it cant crawler your website and shows 0 index pages

Hi Ikuret75, that is very normal. Why should google list your "Maintenance" website? What for? And yes be patient, it's a sure thing in a few weeks you will see your website again like it was never away! But to be clear, "old Google" these days not as fast as 10 years before. In the past these things took days NOW they take weeeeeeekss
