We had a page ranking on first page of google for 5 keywords of low traffic. My boss ask to remove the keywords and asked to put new 5 keywords with new title, those keywords have more traffic.

After changing the keywords and title now we are no more in google search engine.. We are around 100th result of google.

Please what should I do in order to rank in first page of google

    Fire your boss!
I don't know what to suggest. Backlinks, SME promotion? Your boss, as I see, is an authority in your comopany, let him suggest the strategy!

    I agree with Alex

keyword ranking does not work that way as you can see

you should of built on what was ranking with new content and build over time

cherish every ranking and build more pages

the only thing now is continue working for more page one rankings

    good luck

This gives some great idea, however; there are some exceptional cases where it's differently ranked irrelevant of the backlinks.

First of all I would like to tell you that change of keywords in a ranked page is not a good idea to get more traffic. That page was ranking because of that keywords. If you want to rank that page for another keywords you have to work on that keywords too.

Unless the 5 new keywords are closely related to the previous 5 and it makes sense to change the page title you should have created a new page with the 5 new keywords and promote that. The whole page should be focused on the new keywords. You can just plug in new keywords on an existing page and expect to rank.

Your boss is a gambler and took a shot. Still, if the new keywords make more sense for that page, you might still rank soon.

I agree with @Hearn - You should create new content and try to rank that content.

Now their are some exceptions, but we'll need more analysis from you to determine that.

    1) Your low keyword volume, what was it (What is low to your boss?)
    2) What is the keyword volume of the new keywords?
    3) Did you check the competition of those new keywords?
    4) Did you check your domain strength vs the competition? Do you even have a chance to rank for those new keywords.
    5) What are the keyword other people are linking to your site with?

He's totally right. There are so many variations and nuance to SEO. Does your boss want to be ranking for 0 things when your site doesn't have the juice to rank for the tougher keywords? He may not even know it works like that.

If he change back the previous title and keywords, will his page rank back within the first page again?

Yes He has the chance if he change back the title s and descriptions on the previous situation he will attain the previous ranking but it will take time . I will suggest you to got back to your previous look and get your previous ranking as your previous keywords are low competitive . And if you are wishing to get more traffic add new page to your website with new keywords (High traffic keywords ) and start SEO .

You got your keyword on first position of Google that's great but as you say you did not get the good traffic than probably the problem is into your keyword monthly searches. I will recommend you to first search the keyword and the free and best tool to get this is Google keyword planner tool which is made by Google and there search for monthly searches and competition on that keyword and than you have to start writing and ranking that keyword with the help of offpage and Onpage SEO. You can also use the semrush but is not free tool it is paid tool but you can use there free trial and after that you have to purchased it.

new keywords , mean plan should be different . you cant just rank on first page that soon
create some back links and explore yourself on social media
\however there is not rule to rank on 1st page all you can do is try
what still if you want to rank higher faster than do blogger outreach
i will say " skyscraper technique" is best in that case

  • If you have changed keywords, title & description so it will take some time to rank well. You also have to add those keywords in content as well.

If keywords have high competition so it will definitely take some time.

Here's what I see; you probably got your rankings from doing practically nothing.

You and your boss assume just changing the title and tags to keywords you want will put your site ahead again but it all went wrong.

Well, if you want to compete for "competitive" keyword like the term says, it's going to be "competitive" and will require some work upfront.

Here is what you people could have done if the keywords do have some value even when it's small. You should have created a new page for the new keywords and put them into one or merge them. Or be ready to add them to the current page that is ranking and go off balance because of the changes.

On the aspect of ranking your site, it's not going to happen overnight and it requires some set of skills even when it looks as simple as building links.

If you think that you have new keywords, don't mess your old ranked keywords. Just create new pages for new keywords.

High competitive keywords take more time to rank in the search engine. The keywords you are targeting must be included in your website and even in the page title as well. Make sure you have your keywords in the home page of your website so that it can get crawled by Google quickly. After that you can start doing SEO for it. It's for sure you'll get quick response for it.
