Alt tag issue, wordpress

Ive tried adding alt tags to my site when uploading pics and have also tried adding them to media, but the alt tags still don't show up in the source code, anyone know what the problem is?

    Yes, I am also facing same problem in WordPress, But don't worry some time it does not show. You can fix alt tag manually in coding section.

      trying to figure out the coding what would I add into here to do it, this is the code I get when I try to edit the box that the image is in.

      I can see where to put it in the source code but cant figure out how to edit it. This is the source code I get when I inspect element. I'm new to wordpress and trying to figure out how to access and edit it, any help greatly appreciated

    The problem would be your theme isn't coded to include alt-text. Try the default WP theme and I bet it works.

    I agree with Yukon. Try changing your theme to default 2015 or 2016 and see if its working. If yes, then it's how your theme us designed.

      Not entirely sure how to do this, funny thing is it will allow me to put alt text on pics in my blog posts but not on pages pics

        Name all image with alt related to image and naming should be meaningful so that it will help in SEO
        check some articles related to WordPress
