Dear Warriors,

Wanted to know is there any tools to check how many images of your website are indexed in Google?

This is the case if I've not created IMAGE SITEMAP and not submitted in Google Search Console.

I'm looking for any other tools.

Do a site:domain.com search on Google Images.

Interesting it took 6 responses to get to the easy (right) answer.

This should be common SEO knowledge by now! This is basic SEO 101 info we (anyone interested in SEO) should know.

I'm not sure about the tools. But in my knowledge you can find out about your indexed images by opening up google images and type: site:yourdomain.com into the search box. It should show up all the images indexed under your domain.

Yeah you could use site:domain.com but it wont show you the count and if you have a big site with loads of images than it can be a tricky task for you,

Best is to go with sitemap and check under WMT to get perfect answer.

True about large sites but WMT won't show you all the site data and WMT is usually slower at updating data compared to the live SERPs.

BTW, If you turn off javascript on the browser while doing a site:domain.com search on Google Images it's a little bit easier to check images/counts. Old school Image SERPs.

This is actually an impossible question to answer. How many images are currently in Google's index is probably the question that was meant to be asked. Google has indexed images since they began crawling the web. Lots of images once indexed by Google may have been moved and subsequently reindexed, deleted or blocked. So the total number of images ever indexed by Google is really unknowable.

I haven't submitted an image sitemap or anything like that to Google, but I've found some of my images listed #1 in their image results for certain search terms. I do have my site and sitemap registered with Google webmaster tools though.

I've found a little trick that seems to help, besides the naming of your image and Alt tags, when I have words actually on my image it seems to rank better for keywords I'm targeting.

For example, if I'm targeting "make apple pies" and I have a picture of an apple pie with the phrase 'How to Make the Best Apple Pie" on the picture itself (just use photoshop to type it in) I think Google reads the words and can match it up to search terms.

That's just my experience though, it's worked for me on keywords. Not super high competition ones, but still worked. I found it by accident actually.
