Search rankings performance and 301 redirect

Hi Friends,

I have my blog running on http://blog.example.com, now i want to create new url "https://example.com/blog/" for seo link building & Domain authority improvement .

If i use 301 url redirection from "https://example.com/blog/" to "http://blog.example.com" .

it will work or not from seo point of view ?

Please guide.

    Not a problem at all. Be sure to use something like Screamingfrog to make sure that you find all of the URLs before the move and then, of course, 301 re-direct all of the old URLs to the new ones.

    Contrary to what some people may tell you, there will be ABSOLUTELY NO LOSS in "link juice" from 301ing the pages. Google: There is no PageRank dilution when using 301, 302, or 30x redirects anymore

    The 301 redirect will work no problem. Just make sure to set up the 301 redirect properly, and be certain you're not 302 redirecting.

    It may hapeen that you will loose traffic a bit for a quick small amount of time but they will come around eventually if you use redirects.

    I had a year old bloggger having 600 odd posts. Several months ago, it has been redirected to website. Due to the redirection, the domain authority has been lost. In redirection tools and ahrefs there were intimation that the blogger .nl and .de version have issues. Few posts showing 302 redirects and also issues of canonical. What should be done at this level, what instructions should be given to developers?
