Will deleting Non Related Pages Improve my ranking

Hi, I need your help guys. I have been running my company website as a blog, the blog posts rank very well for different keywords. I changed the homepage and optimized it for a new keyword and I am not seeing the expected results compared to the blog posts which are doing well.

I am considering deleting the blog posts or moving them to a new blog so as to improve the rankings of my new keyword. I feel the other blog posts are really affecting my Main keyword.

Is deleting unrelated posts advisable?

No, I do not advise you to delete any blog posts at all. Deleting the blog posts will eliminate any backlinks that have already been built to those posts, and your site's rankings will suffer as a whole.

Rather, you need to build dofollow backlinks to both the homepage and your inner pages using your new keyword (and its variations) as anchor text. This will increase the homepage's ranking in the Google.

That sounds ridiculous. You shouldn't be deleting any pages unless you plan on 301ing them.

Your idea is just foolish. Deleting old posts or removing them are not going help you you get ranked for the new keywords.

You should not delete anything which is ranking right now. you should try another things like redirect them on the new post or anything like that.

But deleting the posts is never a good idea, by deleting your blogs you are thrashing very good amount of the content which is not gonna benefit you ever.

    Do not delete those pages.
First, check the on page optimization of your home page and make sure Google knows that your home page is about your KW. Make sure you have your KW in the content of the home page. It really only needs to be there one time so avoid stuffing the KW in the content. But, if you can get it in the URL or Title that should be enough.

Build links with specific and variables of the specific KW and point them to your desired page. You can also build A COUPLE of links from your inner pages to your home page using your desired anchor text.

It takes time to rank so don't get too aggressive.

I too agree that reforming those pages would be much better than deleting those pages. Make the pages more relevant and useful for the readers. Also keep adding content to your site so that google knows that the site is well updated.
