I have only recently started looking into ranking youtube videos in search engines, and I have something I've been wondering about..

I have a quite a few different keywords I want to upload videos for, they are all on the same topic, but does that mean I must create an entirely different description for each one of those videos?

Or can I get away with it being pretty much the same only optimized for slightly different keywords?

  • Google owns Youtube, hense Google does not like duplicate content and it knows. It is best to make your descriptions unique and have relevant keywords for the video.

You can write your description tag like this
" First line with about video intro .
Second line with your website link
3rd,4th and 5th description including your keywords .
7th,8th and 9th with again description with your keywords."
You need to enter each keywords 2 times .
You can put same description for many video .I have did it for many times in another niche and had a success in my field .

Do not copy and paste the same description with small changes for each video. Write each one individually, although they are all surrounding the same subject, your videos should be clearly definable from each other.

    Hello there,

I believe it would be best to create unique video descriptions, even if each of them has something in common.

    Hope this helps.

I would definitely use different descriptions, have your link in the first two lines and what I have found to work recently I have added my two main keywords as hashtags at the bottom on the description.

You can utilize your unique keyword selection quite efficiently if your video description is distinct. It will spice up the content and will show your viewers that you are committed with your art. Also it's good marketing.

As everyone suggested I would also say the same. Don't use same description for all videos instead create different sets if you are not getting ideas in mind just pay a few bucks and hire some copy writer, use long description texts as that is what going to help you in ranking purpose.
