Hey all,

So, right now I am in a dilemma. There is one company that needs to make it presence felt in other countries. They offer services and now, want to expand their business to other countries online.

They have offices in US, Singapore, but they want to create a market in other countries as well. So, what link building strategy to follow to make them visible in other countries?

Problem-
The site is one (So, I cannot advise them to make it country specific like au for Australia, ca for Canada & all)
Keywords cannot be country specified because there are targeting so many countries with one site (Though I can give them advice to make 1-2 blogs specifically for each country)
Directory submission in most of the local directory is not possible if you don't have physical address there)
Blog comments seem impossible because the company has niche target audience and most of the blogs written in other countries are by competitors

So, what should I do?How to do link building or make the company visible in other countries, if they don't have specified address online or the physical address that I can put in local directory?

Coming to other ways to make our presence felt
1)Guest blog
2)Influencers
3)Social Bookmarking sites (of other countries is possible?)
4)Forums (other countries)

    Get a landing page for that country and an on-page SEO.

      What exactly you want to say?
      I mean our domain is (.net) So, you mean us to get country specified domain or is there a way to get a landing page for different countries? Getting country specified domain as of now is not possible

    It will be a hard slog to be high ranking around the world but I would build lots of links with good anchor text. Avoid ones with no anchor text.

    Link building is still one of the best SEO techniques. I would like to share here a list of link building techniques which still work in 2016:
    - Guest posts is still an effective technique. But you should do it right, create and maintain relationships with industry news sources and blogs, produce high-quality content and make sure that you link back to your site in a useful and relevant way;
    - Blogging, which is a unique way for a company to engage their audience , attract links and achieve higher organic rankings;
    - Infographics;
    - Directories link building technique still works, but you need to be mindful with how to approach it. Directory link building requires judgement and critical thinking! so do not be tempted by low-quality directories, they will cause you more damage than good.
    - Asking for links is still an original and trusted technique that still works.

    I hope this helps.

    Instead of thinking what is the best link building strategy, why don't you optimize the website first for the targeted countries in which will target specifically for each location.

    example.com/au
    example.com/ca

    Make specific page for each target location.

    I think first of all you have to start from the On page optimization and have at lest one page on your site designed for certain country and region and then in your keywords for this page you need mention country name. Then use those keywords with company mention which link submitting, forum posts etc.

    For expanding services of your business outside your country, you need to understand the market of that country first. After that, you can start online marketing for your business by working on different sites for that particular country. Setting up an office in the country you are targeting is must to prove you are genuine among your targeted customers. Other than that, if you are online service provider then you can work from anywhere as per your convenience. SEO ON Page must be done keenly and in OFF Page the website must be targeting that country where you are planning to provide your service.

    is a good start, but what you actually need is:

    specific links from that country where you want to show up in the results

    AND the landing page that you want to show them has to be of specific interest
    for that targeted market, i.e. you need to talk to Singaporeans if you want to rank there

    you need to have a solution for Australians if you want to rank there, mention them
    by country on that landing page, is a must!

    Why? You need clicks within G results from that country in order to make it there
    thats not usually mentioned on forums - but I have done it, and know that it works
    and its very important in order to rank in country specific results.

    Link Building Strategy to do to increase visibility in other countries is expert articles, press release submission, directory submissions, linkbaiting, and generalized gap analysis, we execute a complex range of additional activities to develop a much more diverse range of links, each attuned to a different aspect of a campaign.

    You can also make the variations of keywords for the specific country during creating the backlinks.
    Example:
    Services offers in US
    Services offers in Singapore

    Your dilemma is self-created. Yes, you can tell them to make the site country specific. Take a look at amazon.com. It's amazon.co.uk in England. Do you know why? Because it works better than having one site target the US and the UK.

    If you're a serious marketer and them a serious company, you'll tell them to look at how amazon.com does it.

    If you seriously, you can create other websites which have geo targeting domain and make it link to your main website.

    Don't worry as you have the opportunity to expand your business worldwide. Make sure you can provide your service in the countries you want to target, then only people will try to approach you in future.
    For promoting your business in different countries, use the sites which are mostly used in that region. In google you'll be able to find those sites which are used in foreign countries & they have good traffic. Post your business info by different link building techniques in these sites and get the best response from it. It is effective.

    Other than that you can promote your business in social sites as well by engaging for visitors who remain active daily. It will make you a huge brand in there eyes as well.

    Get a domain name with the extension that matches the countries that you want to gain visitors from. Use that domain and create a landing page and just refer traffic to your main site.

    Otherwise, you can target backlinks from foreign country's social networks that are specific to their region.
