Hey All,

I've recently created a website on my own domain in the last day.
I don't want to be paying sites to rank my site automatically.
so how can I rank my website on search engines such as google/yahoo/bing so i'm getting traffic in a fairly quick time frame?

Thanks In Advance.

Are you in a hurry? Rankings in different search organic results will take time and investment to obtain long term rankings. It seems that you are not aware from Penguin 4.0

    Hey Daniel,

Great! Congrats and Best wishes for your new website.
Firstly, for ranking your new website you need to submit your website in google/bing/yahoo search engines so that it get submitted to the search engines. And the website is submitted previously you should check its current search ranking. You should optimize the website according the Google algorithm like:
1.) Optimize your Website Page Titles
2.) Optimize your Website Meta Descriptions
3.) Optimize your Website Meta Tags
4.) Optimize your Website URL Structure
    5.) Body Tags (H1, H2, H3, H4, etc.)
    6.) Keyword Density
    7.) Image SEO
    8.) Internal Linking

These all points are some ways that you can improve your on-page SEO and get your website easily ranked in google search result. These all will help you to get your website pages working better, they will help to get your entire site crawled by search engine spiders, they will help increase the value of internal pages and they will build the relevancy of internal pages to specific keyword phrases.

You can also add your website in Google analytic and webmaster so that you can get detailed traffic report of your website on a daily basis.

    Thanks

Start with on-page SEO, make sure you post valuable content on the daily basis and, then choose an SEO service that will offer a lot of backlinks diversity.

I personally prefer to grow my traffic through social media networks and, then, to think about off-page SEO.

First of all you work on its on-page SEO, then submit your website in search engines along with site map. Then start its marketing on social media sites and guest blogging is also a key of success in SEO field.

    1. Keep adding content to your page and build backlinks naturally. Consistency is the key. Don't build 500 hundreds backlinks on one day, and zero backlinks on other days. Google don't really like that. Show Google the backlinks grow naturally and are genuine. For eg, It is okay to build 2-5 backlinks a day and consistence throughout the months/year.

    2. Have the backlinks from different sites, it can be from brand new sites, authority sites, old sites, etc. Of course, if you can more backlinks from authority sites, that is definitely a bonus.

    3. Have the backlinks pointing both to your main page (eg www.mydomain.com) as well as inner pages (eg www.mydomain.com/post1. Use anchor text (your keyword with hyperlink) and sometimes URL.as hyperlink. Prepare a few keyword to be used as anchor text. Use it interchangeably, don't stick to one keyword only.

Unfortunately there are no shortcuts to get higher rankings on search engines. You have to be patient. First of all you do proper on page SEO for your website which include sitemaps, meta tags, quality content, internal linking etc. Then you should build some quality backlinks to your website at steady pace. When it comes to backlinks always concentrate more on quality rather than the quantity. And keep on checking what your competitors are doing which helps you make a better SEO plan for your website.

I kinda disagree with "give it time" method - it works, but there are a lot of things you could do to speed it up.
At the beginning try to rank well for anything - for example low search volume keywords. You need to show google that you worth his trust. If we want to take it deeper you have to show google that you are above average - otherwise he will treat you like average.
Once you'll win less competetive keywords your overall stats (DA) will increase and you'll slowly start to go higher on important keywords.

    Daniel,

What niche are you trying to target? The more specific you are about the kind of niche you are targeting or the industry you are in the easier it will be for people to give you good advice.

As others have already said, try using a few important long tail keywords. I would recommend duplicating some of your content into other forms like video, infographics and slides. Publish these two well-established sites that will point back to your new site and your new website should get indexed by Google pretty quickly.

However you will have to be realistic. Google will often give you a honeymoon period but then possibly Sandbox you until your site develops some reputation.

If it is traffic and sales that you want then using some pay per click advertising may be the way to start?

The only instant method of traffic is social media or social linking sites where people will see your link and go to it if it interests them. On your way to building organic rankings, you'll have to get backlinks this way and you'll gain some direct traffic from those.

Start out on the usual social platforms like Facebook and Twitter, but I also use sites like Reddit for link building. You can sometimes get people to upvote your links on there if they're interesting, and get thousands of direct visitors from that method.

Get backlinks from White House and CNN. And a few more sites like these. Backlinks continue to be the most important ranking factor.
My guess is that you won't be able to get links from White House, though. How about CNN, then? Begin by looking at their most shared articles. What outbound links can you find? And why did CNN choose to link to those sites?
Often times, you will discover that the links lead to web properties owned by people who have invented stuff. So can you invent something that's really interesting? Then you may have the chance of getting a link from CNN as well.
Most people just pay hundreds to thousands of dollars to get links from less powerful sites. These links can boost your rankings as well, but they're expensive and don't have CNN's huge ranking power. It's much better (and safer!) to invent something cool.
    Good luck!

    Hi Daniel,
By now you must be aware that in order to rank in a search engine and stay there on the long run, you need to continuously work on the SEO of your website.

To rank better, start with proper On page optimization of all your website SEO tags. Ensure that your pages contain keyword rich H1,H2 tags, a proper title and description which are within the character limit prescribed by Google.

With the ever changing SERP algorithms, now emphasis is more on rich content. So ensure that your website contains rich content which keyword rich as well as not plagiarized.

Periodically monitor your webmaster tools account to check for any errors that might have cropped up and also to keep an eye on the queries on which your page is ranking.

Build high quality backlinks. More than the number of backlinks, its the quality that matters.

Apart from social bookmarking and forum submission, go for classified submissions, directory submissions, Press Release,Submit good quality articles on your subject of expertise to name a few.
