A quick question regarding SEO terminology: relevant, target pages?

Hey guys! Is there a specific term to call:

1) A target SEOs want to appear in the search results for a specific search term?
2) A page that appears for this search term now?

I mean there can be a keyword A and you want a 'page X' to appear in Google when someone searches A? But now there's a 'page Y'. So, are there specific terms SEOs call these X and Y pages?

Or I can call them whatever I want?

If you want Y to appear in Google search then you need to build more links(quality backlinks) for Y page by having more content with keyword A in Y page then within short time you can see the X page being replaced by Y page.

From I understand X is the page you want to appear in the SERP, which is your target url/page. Y is the competitors' website.

One if your website and the other is competitors.

Can you confirm if X and Y are your own page or different?
Also it does not matter what you call them unless you can rank it up.
