I have dilemma...I don't know if I am wasting my time & effort or not.

There is an ezinearticle that is ranked #1 for a keyword, and was submitted in 2005.

Now, my ezinearticle is ranked under it, as a "sub-site", I want to know if I can get above it or not... if it is possible.

Screenshot:

Is it possible for my ezinearticle to outrank his?

I have done some backlinking and what not, but I want to know if this is a lost effort or not.

Thank you,

Kyle.

  • I wouldn't think it was worth the effort.

You've already got a very strong position for the article. Plus, you might be surprised that some people click on the indented article rather than the one above it. It's actually much more prominent!

It comes down to links, as always. Use the target keyword as anchor text in the links you get and just pound away. It might take awhile, but you'll jump to #1. Unless the current #1 knows the trick too. Since it's been there for 4 years, you might never jump it if that author has a ton of backlinks.

In case of having multiple pages ranked for same keyword from same website, after the PR threshold & On page optimization it comes down to how old the competing pages (from that same website) are and the oldest one get ranked at the top. That means if there's room for beating them with more backlinks or on page optimization, it can be done ... and if not then the oldest one will rank highest. In your case you can outrank it with more backlinks but it might be hard cause your article would require several times more backlink then the one above yours in order to outrank it.

This problem is already making IMers look for alternatives because for every other profitable LTKW, there is an EZA article on first page.

You can find other ways to outrank the article other then EZA. I usually find that if there is an EZA article outranking me all I have to do is create multiple articles around that keyword and utilize sources like Scribd or hubpages to get my foot in the door. There are other alternatives as well you may want to consider.

Well, he already has an EZA article that's ranked right under the one he wants to bump. All he has to do is build a network of backlinks. Of course, he could use Hubpages and other content platforms to host those links...

I have been in your situation many times and been able to outrank the #1 article by simply pounding away at the backlinks. There are some backlinks which show up quicker than others. Find those and you will get there before you know it.

Here is what I would do ....

Write 3 different articles on the same keyword submit them to EZA and then distribute them to so many other article directories with a link back to the article at EZA ( you do this after the ones at EZA is live) and a link to your site.

Then build back links to The articles ( all the 3) at EZA.

Use Angela, Paul and some other backlink WSO and then subscribe to James bookmarking service for backlinks

    James - http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...ly-8-77-a.html

    Angela - http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...inks-free.html

    paul - http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...inks-free.html

All the above can be done under 2 weeks and will cost under $30.

I did this for a keyword that gets over 200 visits per day ( not giving it away). I am now first place of google ( 2 urls in first page ) and most views in my category at EZA ( 2 URLS also).

Please note that I have no business with Paul, James and Angela. In fact I have not met them before and I have no projects with them ... I am just one of their many happy customers.
