What are your thoughts on this?

I'm on a REALLY tight budget, and thought of this...

I may mention in my PPC add on Google that my product isn't free, so to stop people wasting my money by clicking on it expecting free information.

"Purchase this Guide now....."
"Product description......only $27"

Terrible idea? Thoughts?

I think I'll try it cause like I say im very low on money and cannot afford wasted clicks.

But I also know some people who arn't prepared to pay, but WILL pay after reading my sales copy, will be considered lost sales, as they wont click the add in te first place.

Actually typing this out now makes it sounds a dumb idea, but im going to post it for discussion anyway.

Thanks

I think there nothing wrong if you mention it, you have a product description anyway so through that the client will already have an idea of your product and if they are really interested in buying they will look at it. For those that are just looking for free products, they will not make an effort of clicking it.

All I can see is test it. If it works, great. If not, try something else. That's the whole point of PPC. I could tell you why you should or why not, but I could be wrong in your particular case.

Now I'll give you my opinion. I hardly ever put the price in the ad. Why? Because of something I read which was written by an advertiser 50 years ago talking about classified ads. Price is a feature, not a benefit. People with the price in their ad are trying to close the sale with their ad. The ad is not there to close the sale, especially not a 95-character text box. Why do you think you always see the price mentioned last on a web site? They want you to read what the product is about, its benefits.

You say your page converts well. Then you should know what I'm talking about unless you just had blind luck. Do the same in your ad.

But if you want to try it, go ahead. The ad with the price in it just may be the best. You won't know if you don't try.

    Hi F360,

I think it's not just a good idea, it's a great idea. I would recommend that you move the price up into the headline of the ad and move the call to action to bottom line of the ad copy.

What+Why+When is a proven formula for PPC ad text.
