    Hi Ruben,

What I generally do is find the niche industry for which I want to work. Once done, I manually collect email IDs or contact details and send a nicely written email pitching my SEO service. Remember, in my first email, I don't get too pushy. I simply ask my leads that I am interested in creating a no obligation SEO audit report for their website. Believe me, most of my clients don't deny. Once, I come up with a audit report, they automatically gets more interested to know more. Which is a winning milestone for marketing my services to them.

    Best wishes

Why dont you start doing sales funneling, like look for websites that are not well built and have bad link structure start sending them mails and try to close leads.

Its just a normal method that you can follow besides there are more that you can use.

why donot you rank your own website and start getting leads from google directly? You can also use PPC Campaign and craigslist to get more clients..

For SEO - you might want to explore the idea of affiliates via other web developers - they engage their own clients to sign up for your service, get a cut of the profits and then you get new customers passively without doing the hard yards of selling.

Apart from that I would suggest:

    - WOM - this is probably the simplest way - do an amazing job and ask your current customers to share your details if any of their colleagues or business contacts are looking for SEO

    - Advertising - have you set up SEO or Adwords for yourself?

    - Developing a CRM / contact list and do eMarketing - be proactive with your marketing and create some marketing tools so that if someone enquires you have the materials they are searching for including price lists and 'why it works' type flyers

If your price is good and you're getting results I am sure the work will come however I think being really clear with your marketing and no assuming everyone knows what your offering is and how it is priced is important. Sometimes as the world of SEO can be a little unknown for client's it is a little scary and you might need to do some hand holding.

If you would need to go for the direct deal then you need to start your own website and would generate the leads to catch the clients!
