Hi again,
I'd like to ask you about link building on forums - like posting our website links into our posts on related forums, for me I have to find pc game related forums-

Here are my tips and questions:

- If I go and find my older posts and put our website link into it then would it be positive affect on SEO? (This method cant be easily catch by game forum moderators)

- If I post a unique article into our website forum and then get indexed by google and then repost the same article into other game related forums, which site would be negatively affect by Google SEO?

- What are your tactics on building forum backlings without bothering their moderators and admins?

Thanks

You should not just focus on forum posting to get back links. It should be a mixture of Forum posts/blog comments, Links from other niche blogs (by guest posting) etc.

Forum links would have an affect on SEO if they are do follow links.

    Hope this helps!

Most forums allow you to add your website url in your signature. Dont go around spamming your links, yes you can use them as reference to answers questions, but most forum members quickly pick up on spammers and then they wont even bother reading your treads and posts, you might even get banned. Forums are meant for discussion not link building.

As for your second question, depends which one gets indexed first. If the other blog article gets indexed before yours, google will see yours as duplicate content and yours will probable end in their supplementary index and wont rank well at all. Enzines and such usually have no follow backlinks and is a weak source for driving traffic.

Link building tactics, do a search for do follow blog comments and comment in related blogs to recieve some valuable link juice, guest posting is always a winner .

I actually asked the reverse thing: I post unique article into my site first then re-post the same post after that into other forums and try to get traffic?

I assumed that, I meant that you must make sure your original post is indexed by google before posting it on other sites. The content on other more popular sites can get indexed quicker so make sure yours is indexed before spreading it, you can get your posts quickly indexed using google webmaster tools fetch as google feature

Looks like you've practiced your idea on this forum - by adding a link to your own site in post after post.

he wants to edit old post and add his website link to the old post/threads to build backlinks.
...and those same posts already have his links in the sig as well - to anyone accustomed to forums it is clearly "link bait"....

Eventually, a mod will catch on and remove your posts (or remove you) - meanwhile the links are no follow so is it worth the effort?

Considering Penguin's hair trigger sensitivity, I would say that Xrumer-style indiscriminate forum link building is one 'SEO technique' that belongs in the PAST.

The name of the game is now EARNING links instead of building them.

    Earned links = organic!

You could rewrite your post to be different than what you post on your site.

Forum link building is a really great method to build links, First you should only pick the forums which gives dofollow links over signature or in posts.

For your first method I don't think it would not always work as edit option wont come if the post was posted long back.

Second method would work easily you wont face any issues.
Other methods you can use is post relevant information and link your website if the content is proper then moderators wont have any issues linking back to you

    Hi,

Forums are not good enough for SEO, Google understands that you're spamming. But that's great to gain traffic and your tips are really good to get traffic
