Hi everyone, I started doing SEO a few months ago, I consider that im still on my learning process (well, we all are, right?), but I wanted to share some great tools im using right now, that are really helping me to get the job done:
  • Anchor Text Over Optimization:
Its really good for detecting anchor text and avoiding Google penalties.
  • Domain Hunter Plus:
It detects the broken links on your website, very helpful.
  • Rank checker:
This is a very powerful Mozilla extension, it can show you the rank of any website in the searching platforms.

Rankerizer: It measures the rank and evolution of your keywords, this is a must for anyone that is doing SEO.

Sharecount: This tools show you which are the most shared contents of a website, its a good way of checking out the competition.

This are the tools im currently using in my projects, they have proven to be quite useful, do know any other tool that should be on this list?

    Thanks for sharing!

I prefer Screaming Frog SEO right now. Anything from checking URL lengths, redirects, and broken links. You can do it all.

As well, I just came across a cool Google sheet template today that let's you do a content audit in 12 minutes.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5t_BJ4jLkI

It is by Ryan Stewart, a marketer who runs the digital agency Webis.

I've been away from SEO for a while, but I'm now seeing that Google is now giving a huge SERPs boost to FAST LOADING websites. So don't forget to check how fast your own site is. You can easily check this by using the built in developer tools that all the major web browsers now have.

In Firefox use the menu Tools > Developer > Network which will show you how many files your site loads for a specific page.

If you want to speed up your site, search Google for Wordpress AMP Theme.

Thats an interesting fact!, and most of the marketers out there dont give a crap about their loading time, generally, we only make sure the loading time is decent, but we dont invest a lot of time or resources in improving it, now that Google is taking that into account, we should definetely start doing it.

Yes, it is very important to test your loading speed of your web pages. Googlebot will shy away from your site; real people will be frustrated by slow page loading.

But before trying to do anything, first test your loading speed FIRST. Below are some of the free tools available:

      https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/
      https://tools.pingdom.com/
      https://gtmetrix.com/

They even tell you what and how to improve the speed loading after the test.

      Hope this help.

I`d recommend SEO PowerSuite. Got back to using it once their WebsiteAuditor has been updated with all the functionalities Screaming Frog has. It provides detailed site audit as well, but the price is way lower. Helps checking the site structure, all kinds of on-page and tech errors, can generate a sitemap and robots file.

I also use their RankTracker to monitor the local rankings and SpyGlass to run through backlink profiles occasionally (quite handy as I can create and export a disavow file right off).

I personally don`t have access to the reporting features yet, but hopefully they might run a sale for Christmas as usual.

From the testing I have done, no company or program gives you a complete picture of your backlink data. The numbers are all over the place.

To get the best backlink picture of backlink information you have to use a combination of these tools. It appear Ahrefs has the most backlink data, but some of the unique domains that say Ahref picks up aren't listed in Majestic and some on Majestic aren't on Ahrefs.

Here is a test I ran today on a client site.

    Majestic
    External Backlinks 3,327
    Referring Domains 18

    SEOProfiler - Backlink
    Backlinks 4,241
    Unique Backlinks 10

    Ahrefs - Site Explorer
    Backlinks 8.05K
    Referring domains 16

    Moz Open Site Exlorer
    4 Root Domains
    10 Total Links

    SEMRush
    156 Backlinks
    7 Referring Domains

    Bing Webmaster Tools Inbound Links
    Backlinks 2,447

For keyword research and mapping, for checking local/mobile rankings, universal search results - my favorite one so far is RankTracker from SEO PowerSuite.

WebsiteAuditor is handy for quick site audits, I also use it to analyze the competitors` content, and not to miss a thing while optimizing mine. I also like the little tips and recommendations the program provides - just great for client reporting and explaining the issues.

For backlink analysis I prefer using several sources, but load all found backlinks into SpyGlass, as it verifies the real-time existence of the backlinks, and I`m only willing to analyze the backlinks that are actually in place.

There`s no full integration between the tools, still they cover most of the SEO daily routine.
