Hey guys, I am not understanding this concept. I have seen sites which are on page 1 on google but without much traffic and conversely I have seen sites with high traffic but not on page 1 or 2. Can you guys explain both situations for me please?
#high #ranking #site #traffic

How are you determining they have little traffic? Plus ranking traffic really depends on the keyword. The latter is pretty easy to figure out though - traffic can come from many places without SEO.

Google Analytics showing only like 14 visits per week but site is in always on page one.

        2 things.

First, being on page one for a term that does not get searched often, won't bring much traffic. If the term is only getting searched 40-50 times per month, what do you expect?

Second, it depends on the search term but generally 80-90% of the search traffic is going to go to the top 3 spots. Spots #4 through infinity are fighting over the remaining scraps. So being #8 means you are page one, but also means you are likely still not getting much, if any, traffic.

So you are talking about your own site.

Anyway it really depends on your keyword research. ranking on page one for a term few people search for can leave you with no traffic.

Case 1: The issue could be that the keyword has a seasonal intent and currently its not receiving any traffic

Case 2: It could be that the website has gained a lot of presence over Social media and other related websites like Quora, Stumbleupon etc.

There are possible causes. I conclude 3 reasones
    1. You're Not Really Ranking (If you check via google, log out your google account or use SEO tool check
    2. Your Keywords Don't Deliver (Search are low volume)
    3. Your Results Don't Get Clicked (Your title is not interest to click)

The SERP traffic is based on the keyword ranking. Also, the traffic is from various sources may be they focused only on their needed keywords instead of getting the traffic to the website.

Traffic depends on the keywords searches. If your keywords have searches than it automatically generate traffic and if there is no competition with your keywords traffic should be less as you accepting.

Ranking totally depends on competition on keyword, if your keyword having less competition it rank on no 1 with little traffic but if the keyword have huge competition it will rank slowly having already huge trafic

This I am not clear on as most folks here and elsewhere have told me that especially when a site is now starting up, I should not use high competition kw's but rather go with the medium to low kw's?

Many things matter on a site which shows at page1 without having much more traffic on it. Such things as

    More back links
    Daily updates blogs/content
    Unique Visitors
    Domain Age
Effective meta tags and description with the URL's

    Mikehende,

These are two cases that you must consider:

    1. Which way you use to check your search rank? If you using hand way, it means you search on google with your targeted keyword, make sure that you deleted all cookie or Ctrl-Shift-N to open a private browsing before checking your search ranking. If you use tools, make sure it's good tool such as SEMrush, Ahrefs,...

    2. Your targeted keyword is correct? how many people search for it? No traffic is obvious thing if no one or just a few people search for that keyword.

You need to follow few things to check the traffic to your website it was original or fake.

    1. Check your google analytic code it was fine or Not Please cross check your google analytics Code with your google account and your website.

    2. If first step was ok Then go to Google webmaster and See search Analysis of your Website and Check how many searches your website has. if it was also showing the same traffic then

    3. Check your keywords that you used it have searches on Google or Not. Keywords Selection is one of the most important factor to generate traffic to your website.

Its possible that you chose wrong keywords & Low Searches Keywords those did't have any searches. Working on these types of keywords are time waste.

If a website is on Page one of Google that doesn't means that it will convert a large audience towards it. The thing matters in conversion is the services & the availability of products which they are selling. If the website is attractive & the services are good, then it will definitely attract people towards it without forcing them.

If your website is on Page 2 or 3 and your service is commendable, then you would get huge traffic in comparison to your rivals. Be genuine & serve the best to your customers who are your everything.
