Is it worth it to get a backlink from an inner page of a domain with high DA?

Hi all. If you can get a backlink on a homepage from a domain with high DA, that's always the best to help your ranking. But sometimes it's not possible because the owner of the website doesn't want to put links to external websites on his/her homepage - they'd rather put the backlink to your site on an inner page.

So, if you see a website with a high DA but can only get a backlink from an inner page, possibly an inner page with low PA and with few other external links pointing to this inner page, is it still worthwhile to get a backlink from this inner page? Will it help boost my website's ranking in Google?

It might be worth it. It might not be. Whether it is worth it or not though has nothing to do with DA.

PA is a better gauge, but it is still inaccurate and not guaranteed to have anything to do with how Google views the page your link is on.

If the page you're getting the link from has backlinks of its own, go for it; if it's got none, you could just as well create a page on tumblr.com or some such site.

Many of these pages that I'm looking at generally have few backlinks of its own. The homepage has a lot of backlinks pointing to it and that's why the domain has a high DA. But the inner pages themselves have few backlinks pointing to it.

But your theory about tumblr.com is interesting. Tumblr.com's homepage has a DA of 99 and a PA of 97. Each blog on tumblr.com is on a subdomain of tumblr.com, rather than a specific page or directory that most inner pages would be found so there is a difference there. Having said that, I think you're right that a link from a random tumblr.com blog, even though tumblr.com has a DA of 99, will do very little to boost the ranking for your site..

No one can give an answer to that since ranking depends on lot of factors, Like keyword difficulty, Content, OBL of the page and could be more.

If you think that link is worth just pick and dont think about getting ranked overnight.

How about average keyword difficulty, average content, average OBL, and average for everything else except there are few to no inbound links to the inner page?

In other words, back when Pagerank was still working, if the homepage had a pagerank of 10, but the inner pages have a pagerank of 0 (because there are few or no backlinks to the inner page), would a link from one of the inner pages still help your website rank?

Basically, backlinks are crucial in achieving online success. If you can only get backlinks from the inner page of a reputable site, go for it! Its way better to have backlinks from sites with a high DA than none at all. Just remember, when backlinking, make sure your site isnt linked with unreliable web pages as this can negatively impact your page.

Thanks. Now please consider this scenario:

You have a budget to spend to acquire backlinks. There are 5 sites with a DA of 30 with an inner page for each site but all those inner pages have few or no links pointing to them. You can spend your budget getting 5 links from these inner pages from all 5 different sites.

      OR

Or, there is a sixth site with a DA of 30, and you have the option to purchase a single link from the homepage of this site. Assume this sixth site is comparable with the other 5 sites so we can control our experiment (ie. this sixth site has equal DA as the other 5 sites, the inbound links to the hompage is comparable for all six sites, etc).

Should you spend your budget getting 5 backlinks from the 5 different inner pages from the 5 different sites (with no links pointing to these inner pages) or should you spend your budget getting the single backlink from the homepage of the sixth site?

I think its best that you dont base your decision solely on a sites domain authority. Instead, base it on the links. Personally, Id rather have a high quality link from a site with 25 DA than an unnatural link from a site with a much higher DA.

Remember that the more Domain Authority your site has, the more popular it will be in search engines. Gone are the days when Google used to rank up the sites which had high PageRank. Now its all about backlinks, content and proper SEO factors, which rank up your site in Google. I guess by now you understood what is Domain Authority, and how it is important to any website. You can speed up your site Domain Authority by following these simple techniques I mentioned below. Make sure you follow the article till end, so that you dont miss a chance to rank up your DA.

By the way, do you know how pages got high PageRank? They got backlinks.

Domain Authority is a metric developed by someone other than Google. You have no idea how closely it matches Google's ideas.

PS You forgot to mention simple techniques below.

I think it is worthy. It may boost your page. For that you may find more visitor to your page. It may lead more conversation.
