redirecting https: to http: ?

Hello,

In the beginning of starting my website I had SSL installed but it was causing some problems with some links that I decided to have it removed from my site. I asked support to enable SSL again to use https: on some pages but again I ran into some problems. I was doing some reading around and just decided to redirect https: to http: I added all versions of my site to google's search console https://, https://www., http://, http://www.

Now my question is "Now that I added all versions of my site to google search console will google more rank to my site because I have SSL using https:// but redirecting it to http://?

    Google states that SSL is a minor ranking signal. We have not seen it help a single site rank any better, so it must be an extremely minor signal. If you have pages that need to be secure, such as ones where you are collecting private data or payments, you definitely need an SSL on those pages. Other than that, converting a site to SSL is a complete waste of time and money that could be far better spent creating stellar content and getting great backlinks.

    Incidentally, we make sure our non-SSL pages are indexed and we block robots from the SSL pages of our eCommerce sites since those are not ones that need to be indexed for any reason (Shopping Cart, Checkout, Account Sign-in, Create An Account, etc.).

    The only info collected on my site is just name & email. I'll add the register, login pages from robots.

    EDIT: I added the /register /login to the robots.txt file.

    How would I add the login / register from https:?

    You should be redirecting to the https version of your site 100%. Https is the future and you can clearly see this movement in the SERPS. There are countless case studies you can find on blogs showing the SEO benefits of moving to https.

    Google has even come out to say they want all sites to be secure and that they like this! So why go against it???

    The site in question is an arcade site so linking to games on other sites that are not https: was causing problem on my site since I was using https: and players could not see the games. That's is why I decided that instead of removing the SSL already installed to redirect the https: to http: I added all versions to google search console. I don't see any errors yet there.

      Ya if your having compatibly issues thats probably the only legit reason to switch back. Although these sites your embedding from will most likely switch to https quite soon anyways.

      One other thing to note is, it doesn't matter whether you have an information blog or a website that sends sensitive information, we should all be switching to https... It's clearly stated from Google themselves.
